Web Developer

Schomp Automotive is growing and seeking a WordPress Developer. This position is primarily a front end web developer role that publishes and maintains automotive dealership websites. Our website provider is built on wordpress with custom bootstrap elements/plugins. This role also has the opportunity to build, maintain and optimize websites built by Schomp Marketing that are outside of the vehicle syndication scope. The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of experience and has working knowledge of WordPress, CSS, Hosting Environments (WP Engine Prefered), preliminary knowledge of JS, Bootstrap and is eager to learn more technology. The ability to adapt to the given workday is a must and this candidate enjoys a fast paced environment and views problem solving as a hero characteristic. This professional enjoys working with pragmatic creatives within the marketing context to deliver best in market user experiences across our platforms. 

This  position is located in Highlands Ranch in the corporate office of Schomp Automotive, this is not a work from home or remote work opportunity. Candidates from out of the state of Colorado are expected to provide information about their availability to relocate to Colorado and understand that this position is not offering a relocation compensation package. 

 

Primary Job Duties:

  • Publishing and implementing new content and features

  • Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture and navigation

  • Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS

  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design 

  • Working with our in house creative department to optimize graphics for ideal load times 

  • Mobile first mentality for page building and architecture

  • Self driven to audit one's own work and continually set work plans to ensure website functionality is performing as intended down the line

  • Install tracking scripts for Google Analytics and other marketing platforms. Work with media buying team members to ensure tracking is established and performing as intended

 

Desired but not Required Experience

  • Graphic Design experience, Photoshop emphasis 

  • Working experience maintaining websites within a strict brand corporate identity guidelines 

  • Working experience with Elementor page builder plug-in 

  • Working experience with WP Engine hosting environments

  • Working knowledge with Dealer Inspire websites 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Four year college degree or technical web publishing bootcamp curriculum

  • One to Three years of full time WordPress / CMS publishing and maintenance 

  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (Excel, Google Sheets) 

  • Google Analytics experience prefered 

  • Located in Colorado, or relocating to Colorado in the very near future

  • Thrives in a team environment, working within the same space as team members for ideal collaboration and agility that our clients need. 

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. 

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to communicate in both writing and verbally. Ability to walk short distances within the primary work space and across the automotive campus. 

  • Ability to operate a vehicle with a clean driving history to commute between automotive campuses on Plum Valley Lane and Havana Street. 

  • A majority of the work performed will be in front of computer screens. The candidate must be able to view and work from a computer screen for substantial amounts of time. 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit intermittently throughout the day. 

  • On occasion, team members will join the rest of the department in the assistance of setup and teardown of campus events. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and physically assist in both indoor and outdoor events. 

  • In the scope of event setup and tear down, the candidate may be asked to be on ladders, step stools and other equipment to meet the need of the set up. 

 

Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position with the expectation of meeting standard core office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

  • Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
