As a Parts Driver / Shipping & Receiving Clerk with BMW of Fairfield, you are responsible for the pickup and delivery of parts and equipment to stores, wholesale accounts, vendors, and ensuring the efficiency of the daily routes and deliveries.

Punctual and regular attendance.

Handle all outgoing deliveries and shipments as well as returns to suppliers.

Maintain clear tracking of deliveries

Checks with the parts manager, parts counter clerks, and shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.

Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.

Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.

Advises parts manager if any delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.

Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling the tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.

Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts

Helps with shipping and delivery duties for the dealership.

Practice safe work habits, and follow the company’s safety policies.

Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

Maintains professional appearance and provides friendly customer service.

Model professionalism and approach all situations as a representative of the company.
Required Skills and Knowledge:

Able to work in extreme weather conditions, winter and summer.

Walk up and down stairs while carrying items.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to read, write and maintain large numbers in numerical and alphabetical order.

Ability to multitask and prioritize important activities.

Experience with data input.

Excellent organizational skills and highly process-driven.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
Education, Experience, and Certification:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience

Prior experience as a driver preferred

The ability to work independently with limited supervision and the motivation to continually increase product knowledge should be evident.

Evening and Saturday work will be required as job duties demand. Scheduled shifts will be determined by the manager, with rotating shifts throughout the workweek.
