The Subaru Service Drive Attendants keep cars flowing through our Service Departments. You’ll greet customers, move vehicles, and work with Service Advisors and Technicians to ensure our customer’s vehicles receive first class care at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct guests to the reception area or introduce them to the appropriate departmental Manager/Advisor.

  • Keep new and used vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed.

  • Prepare customer vehicles for delivery following service.

  • Pick-up and return customer vehicles from their home or office for service.

  • Clean driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary.

Requirements

  • Clean driving record or minimal violations

  • Valid Driver's license

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Service all makes and models in a timely manner for routine scheduled maintenance; aiming to extend vehicle functionality and longevity.
  • Comebacks: Limit comebacks to less than two percent (2%) of total repair assignments.
  • Self-Development: Attend training seminars, shop meetings and service schools.

  • Punctual and regular attendance.

  • Handle all outgoing deliveries and shipments as well as returns to suppliers.

  • Maintain clear tracking of deliveries

  • Checks with the parts manager, parts counter clerks, and shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.

  • Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.

  • Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.

  • Advises parts manager if any delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.

  • Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling the tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.

  • Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts

  • Helps with shipping and delivery duties for the dealership.

  • Practice safe work habits, and follow the company’s safety policies.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

  • Maintains professional appearance and provides friendly customer service.

  • Model professionalism and approach all situations as a representative of the company.

Required Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Able to work in extreme weather conditions, winter and summer.

  • Walk up and down stairs while carrying items.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to read, write and maintain large numbers in numerical and alphabetical order.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize important activities.

  • Experience with data input.

  • Excellent organizational skills and highly process-driven.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Education, Experience, and Certification:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience

  • Prior experience as a driver preferred

  • The ability to work independently with limited supervision and the motivation to continually increase product knowledge should be evident.

  • The self-concept of professional should be coupled with concern for quality service and customer satisfaction.

  • Visual acuity to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.   Requires extended screen time, including reading and entering information on multiple computer screens.

  • Must be able to sit or stand in a stationary position for extended periods of time.  

  • Must be able to climb into and out of cars numerous times each day.

  • Requires frequent reaching, bending, repetitive hand movements, twisting, standing, walking, sitting, squatting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.

Work Environment:

  • This position operates in a professional dealership environment.

  • Evening and Saturday work will be required as job duties demand.  Scheduled shifts will be determined by the manager, with rotating shifts throughout the workweek.

  • Must maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times.

  • Must perform duties in all weather conditions.
